My Story

"Don't Count Yourself Out." This isn't just the title of Shareen's book; it is the mantra that defines her life. Her book's title inspired Shareen to start her mission, passion and her ministry of helping women not count themselves out.

She is the Architect of Resilience. She wants you to know that you can make it without counting yourself out. There is light at the end of tunnel if you just keep going and not stop or give up.

Born and raised in Plainfield, NJ, Shareen spent ten years working in the Detective Bureau of the Plainfield Police Division before a layoff pushed her toward a destiny she hadn't imagined. Inside the of pages of Don't Count Yourself Out Shareen tells her story of resilience being married, walked out on with two children, laid off and struggling financially.

Refusing to let a setback define her, Shareen returned to school to chase a dream. She graduated from Montclair State University with a BFA in Filmmaking and launched Purple Sky Productions LLC. Today, she is an IMDB-credited filmmaker, photographer and videographer. Her directorial work on the short film Unemployed and her production work on Being Gladys and Bye Love have earned her accolades on the festival circuit.

Shareen operates with a spirit of excellence and compassion. A mother of two grown children now. Shareen is dedicated to teaching others that no matter the obstacle, with faith and focus, reinvention is always possible.
